Gold Museum 黃金博物館 | The New Taipei City Gold Museum, formerly known as the Gold Ecological Park, is a museum of the gold mining industry in Ruifang District, New Taipei, Taiwan. |
Jiufen Old Street 九份老街 | Jiufen is an old mountain village in Ruifang District of New Taipei City, and has perhaps the best old street in all of Taiwan, with authentic Taiwanese food, sloping steps, traditional Chinese architecture, and great views of Shen’Ao and Keelung Harbors. There are also multiple historical sights within the town. The entire village is built on a mountain slope so that you can enjoy views of Taiwan’s north coast from basically anywhere in the city. |
Wulai Old Street 烏來老街 | Wulai has become a major tourist attraction, partly because of its close proximity to Taipei. It has museums, waterfalls, a gondola, a train, an old street night market, and most of all hot springs. It has an old Japanese-era coal mining railroad track which has been restored with a working train. In addition, there are hikes, wildlife, and endless mountain scenery to explore. |
Shiding Old Street 石碇老街 | Shiding Old Street (aka Shiding East Street) is a small street in the busiest part of the mountainous Shiding District in New Taipei. There are some great restaurants here, an old mining town feel, great views of old multi-story houses towering over the rivers, and beautiful surrounding mountains. Also, there are some great hiking trails and scenery nearby. |
Sanxia’s Indigo Dyeing 三峽藍染 | Indigo dyeing is an ancient art of dyeing and patterning clothes with an especially beautiful blue dye. The dye itself comes from the indigo plant, which grows very well in humid mountain climates. When fermented, the plant produces a brilliant blue dye. |

Sanxia Old Street | Sanxia Old Street otherwise known as San Jiao Yong Old Street (三角涌老街) is located in the Sanxia district of New Taipei City and is a popular old street for the residents of northern Taiwan. The street is about 260 meters long, but don’t tell that to the people going on the weekends who will ultimately have to endure a massive traffic jam to get there! |
New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum Taiwan | The Yingge Ceramics Museum is the first professional pottery museum in Taiwan. First planned by Magistrate Yu Ching, the museum was finally completed after 12 years of construction with efforts of 3 magistrates. The museum opened on November 26, 2000. The museum is made up with modern constructing materials and transparent glass, presenting a limitless sense of space and the beauty of simplicity. The special structure also enhances the exhibition. The Yingge Ceramics Museum presents 200 years of ceramic techniques and folk culture in Taiwan. At the same time, the museum also has educational function with its modern technology, making it an ideal place for families to visit at leisure. Fort San Domingo is one of the oldest buildings in Taiwan, with a nearly 400 year history. Originally built by the Spanish, it was handed over to nine different nations including the Dutch, Qing, Japan, British, Australia, USA, and the ROC. Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology | Located in Bali, New Taipei City (Taipei County). Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology is a great conservational center for cultural artifacts unearthed at the Shihsanhang former site. The project began its constructions on the main buildings, outdoor plaza and car park in 2003 and completed, opened to the public in 2003. The establishment of museum was both by the efforts of central and Taipei County government. Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology serves as an archaeological museum and educational center for northern Taiwan which teaches people about the significance of this area. |
Shenkeng Old Street | Shenkeng Old Street is one of the largest and busiest old streets in New Taipei, known for its famous tofu delicacies, and old Taiwan feel. Here one can enjoy delicious food, beautiful scenery, and buy nostalgic Taiwan related souvenirs. The Tofu here is truly incredible; Shenkeng is known as the Tofu capital of Taiwan, so you should definitely stop by here on your next trip to Taipei. |
Pingxi Old Street | Pingxi Old Street has the second largest old street in Pingxi district, and is full of delicious food, souvenirs, and opportunities to light off sky lanterns. From Pingxi station you can walk down to the historic streets in the small town, and take selfies with the train tracks and bridges that cross the two rivers passing through the town. It is definitely a must see stop along the Pingxi Railway. |
The Northeast Coast National Scenic Area | The Northeast Coast National Scenic Area is an area in northeastern Taiwan with special geographical and historical distinction. The Scenic Area ranges from Nanya Borough, Ruifang District, New Taipei in the north to North Porth of Toucheng Township, Yilan County, and covers Ruifang and Gongliao District of New Taipei and Toucheng Township of Yilan. |

Chihlee University of Technology is located in Banqiao District, New Taipei City. It is near Xinpu Station of Taipei Mass Rapid Transportation (Taipei MRT) by walking about 10-15 minutes to the campus of Chihlee University of Technology. In addition, Chihlee University of Technology is also near Banqiao Station of the Taiwan High-Speed Railway (HSR) and Taiwan Railway, which allows residents and visitors to conveniently travel to other parts of Taiwan’s main island within a few hours.ub

Get to Chihlee University of Technology from Taoyuan International Airport ( A13 – A 18)
You can take the MRT train from Taoyuan Airport Terminals 1 or 2 to Taoyuan HSR Station (17 min) and then take the HSR train to Banqiao Station (15 min). Lastly, take a taxi from Banqiao Station to Chihlee University of Technology (3 min)

2. By Taxi: Taxis operating by shifts are located at the west side of the Terminals 1 and 2 Arrivals Lobby at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. A one-way trip from Taoyuan Airport to Banqiao (Chihlee University of Technology) will take about 30 minutes and cost around USD 30. Because the Airport Taxi personnel is good at helping foreign travelers, the taxi driver can communicate with you in English.
