The National Taiwan Museum of Fine ArtsThe National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts collects 50 masterpieces of calligraphy from deceased elders and contemporary figures in the Taiwanese literary world. These artworks are meticulously engraved using modern blown sand technique, showcasing the original ink charm and bringing together authentic pieces from various calligraphy masters. This enhances the aesthetic appeal of the “Stone Inscription Forest.” Both in content and form, these pieces hold historical, cultural, and artistic value. The museum’s collection room primarily focuses on artworks from deceased artists since the Republic of China era, including works from artists in Taiwan during the Ming and Qing dynasties as well as contemporary artists. The collection encompasses Western and Chinese paintings, as well as artifacts. The National Museum of Natural ScienceThe National Museum of Natural Science is located in the North District of Taichung City. It is Taiwan’s first museum to bring natural science to life, providing a hands-on learning experience. The museum offers diverse exhibits, including the Space Theater, Science Center, Life Science Hall, Earth Environment Hall, Human Culture Hall, and a botanical garden. The content is rich and holds significant educational value, making it a knowledge hub where visitors can actively engage and learn.
Rainbow Villagefeatures vibrant murals that are the creations of Mr. Huang Yong-Fu, also known as Rainbow Grandpa. Incorporating elements of local inspiration, he used his artistic talent to paint the old houses with a riot of colors and whimsical drawings. Walking through the colorful and dreamlike alleys feels like entering a fairy tale world, attracting both domestic and international visitors who come to admire and take photos, making it one of the popular attractions in Taichung. Today, after reopening, Rainbow Village continues to radiate the positive energy of Rainbow Grandpa’s artwork and has become a space where local artists and students contribute their creativity, bringing new life to the simple artistry of Rainbow Village!
The National Taichung TheaterThe National Taichung Theater, conceptualized with the idea of “A Sound Canopy,” features a design incorporating curved walls, perforations, and tubular elements. This innovative architectural approach eliminates the need for pillars and lacks any 90-degree wall surfaces. The theater complex consists of three internationally recognized performance venues: the Grand Theater, the Playhouse, and the Black Box. These facilities cater to various types of performances. Additionally, there is a multifunctional space called the “Corner Salon” suitable for educational outreach, lectures, and other activities. Shengxing StationThe Shengxing Railway Station, located in Sanyi, Miaoli, has a history of over a hundred years since its construction. It was the highest railway station on the Western Railway during its time. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, showcasing the charm of the Hakka mountain city. Inside the Shengxing Station, there is a monument on the platform with an elevation of 402.326 meters. This section of the Western Trunk Line is known for its steep terrain and unique natural landscapes.  The station, built during the Japanese occupation, is made of wood and features a distinctive tiger-tooth design, believed to have protective and auspicious significance. Shengxing Old Streetlocated at the exit of Shengxing Railway Station and serves as a focal point for many visitors. The street boasts well-preserved wooden buildings that exude a nostalgic charm. Visitors can enjoy strolling through the ancient-style street, and on weekends, there are traditional street performances to add to the lively atmosphere. The Longteng Broken Bridgeformerly known as “Yuteng Ping,” was originally named due to the widespread planting of a type of vine called “fish vine” during the early stages of pioneering by the ancestors. This was done to control the spirits of carp in the area, giving rise to the name “Yuteng Ping.” After the restoration of Taiwan, the name was changed to Longteng due to its previous name being considered inappropriate.Throughout its history, the Longteng area endured the Central Taiwan Earthquake in 1935 and the devastating 921 Earthquake in 1999. As a result of these seismic events, the mountain railway line and Longxi Bridge were completely destroyed, leaving behind the remains of the Longteng Broken Bridge. When viewed from a distance, the Longteng Broken Bridge exhibits a rustic and ancient beauty, serving as a tangible witness to the impact of two major earthquakes. It has become a must-visit and popular photo spot for many visitors to Sanyi, Miaoli.
TheOld Mountain Line Railwaycompleted in 1908 and discontinued in 1998, is considered a pinnacle of modern railway craftsmanship and aesthetics. Recognized by the Ministry of Culture as a potential World Heritage site, the Old Mountain Line Railway features three iron bridges, four stations, and eight tunnels along its route. The highlights of the journey include the tunnel light projections that tell the century-old railway stories, the panoramic view of the Longteng Broken Bridge from the Yutengping Iron Bridge, the unique spectacle of four consecutive tunnel openings, and the scenic Liyutan Reservoir and its dam.Embarking on a bicycle ride along the Old Mountain Line Railway is recommended, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the picturesque beauty of the Miaoli mountain city and explore the unique landscapes along the way.

It is truly worth a visit for the breathtaking experience.
Cingjing FarmOne of the most popular attractions in central Taiwan is the “Cingjing Farm” in Ren’ai, Nantou. It is so beautiful that European friends have praised it as resembling the green meadows of Switzerland. The freely roaming sheep on the slopes and the newly completed elevated observation walkway have become highlights in recent years. A recommended way to explore the area is to enter from the highest point at the “North End Ticket Booth of Green Green Grassland.” Walking downhill from there is the least tiring way to enjoy the surroundings. Su Mama TangyuanWhether sweet or savory, is a must-try local favorite with long queues! In addition to the nostalgic noodles and rice dishes, the most famous item at Su Mama’s is their tangyuan (glutinous rice balls). The restaurant insists on handmade craftsmanship, ensuring that the outer layer of the fresh meat tangyuan is chewy, and the pork filling is incredibly satisfying. As for sweet tangyuan, there are various flavors to choose from, each filled with generous and mouthwatering ingredients. Loved by locals, this is a delightful taste of traditional and authentic cuisine.

The Houli RailwayThe Houli Railway, starting from under the National Freeway No. 4 overpass in Fengyuan, Taichung, and extending to the Houli Racetrack, passes through the original Old Mountain Line Tunnel No. 9 and the Hualiang Steel Bridge. The total length is approximately 5.8 kilometers.
The Dajia Zhenlan TempleThe Dajia Zhenlan Temple, also known as Dajia Mazu Temple, hosts a grand annual pilgrimage known as the “Procession of the Goddess” in early March of the lunar calendar. The event is spectacular, attracting countless followers, and similar celebrations welcoming Mazu can be found in temples across various regions. Lugang Old StreetIn the past, was primarily centered around trade, with the nearby port serving as a crucial hub for shipping and businesses. Streets like Yaolin Street, Putou Street, and Dayou Street, due to their proximity to the river, became concentrated areas for shipping companies and docks.
Lugang MazuTo ensure safe voyages, devoted believers collectively established Lukang Mazu Temple in the year 1591 to worship Mazu, seeking her spiritual guidance. This temple is the only one in Taiwan that enshrines the sacred image of the founding goddess from Meizhou, making it unique. Meizhou Mazu is renowned not only for her divine significance but also for the temple’s age and magnificent scale. The architectural structure is grand and opulent, exuding an ancient charm. The meticulous craftsmanship in the painted details, woodwork, and stone carvings is unparalleled, making it a treasure trove of craftsmanship on the island.
Wangong“Wangong Fishing Harbor Lights” was once one of the Eight Wonders of Changhua County. It is a distinctive fishing village in western Taiwan, actively developing into a leisure fishing village with a focus on tourism. The local area is rich in culture, aquaculture, and wetland ecology, making it a vibrant destination for visitors.
Changhua BuddhaThe Eight Trigram Mountains Great Buddha is the most representative landmark in Changhua. Follow the Gua Mountain Road, climb up the slope to the entrance of the Great Buddha Scenic Area, and walk along the Buddha Pilgrimage Path. On both sides, there are thirty-two stone-carved Bodhisattvas, each with a dignified and solemn appearance. At the end of the path, you will reach the Nine-Dragon Pond Plaza, where you can look up at the 22-meter-high Shakyamuni Buddha and enjoy a distant view of the Changhua Plain.
Fan-shape Train stationThe Changhua Fan-Shaped Train Station is designated as a cultural heritage site in Changhua County. It was constructed in the year 1922. The unique feature of this station is its layout, where the tracks radiate from a central turntable towards the depot in a fan-shaped manner at a 99-degree angle. With a total of 12 tracks, the arrangement resembles the unfolding of a fan, earning the station its name. It is currently the only preserved fan-shaped train station in Taiwan.
